His friends laughed, insisting it was impossible. Confident in his words, Fogg made a bold wager, staking a large sum of money on the claim that he could prove it. The very next day, Fogg set out with his loyal companion, Passepartout. Their journey began on a train heading to France, then continued through Italy by fast steamship. They crossed bustling ports, scorching deserts, icy mountains, and dangerous seas. At every step, they faced challenges—delayed ships, broken railway lines, and unexpected storms. But Fogg’s determination never wavered.
In India, they saw grand temples and vibrant markets; in China, they crossed crowded streets filled with exotic goods; in America, they boarded a speedy train that took them across vast plains and towering mountains. Time was slipping away, but Fogg used every clever idea to keep moving forward.
Finally, after racing through cities and oceans, they returned to London—exactly on the eighteenth day. His friends were shocked, and Fogg calmly collected his winnings. But more than the money, it was the pride of proving the impossible possible that made his journey worthwhile.
