A young scientist named Victor Frankenstein becomes obsessed with uncovering the secrets of life. Through years of study and experimentation, he learns how to reanimate dead tissue and creates a living being from assembled body parts. However, when his creation comes to life, Victor is horrified by its monstrous appearance and abandons it in fear.
Lonely and rejected, the creature tries to live peacefully but is met with cruelty and violence from humans. It learns to speak, read, and think, yet is consumed by anger over its isolation. Seeking revenge, the creature confronts Victor, demanding that he create a female companion. At first, Victor agrees, but later destroys the unfinished second creature, fearing the consequences of a new monstrous race.
Enraged, the creature vows to make Victor suffer. It kills his younger brother, his best friend, and later his bride on their wedding night. Grief-stricken, Victor pursues the creature to the icy Arctic, determined to destroy it. Exhausted and near death, Victor is rescued by an explorer, to whom he tells his tragic tale. Shortly after, Victor dies. The creature, mourning his creator, expresses regret for his actions and disappears into the frozen wasteland to end his own life.
Ambition without responsibility can lead to tragedy—creators must take responsibility for what they bring into the world.
